character. is a space for storytellers to be seen.

how we got here.

While character. officially launched in 2020, the seeds of the company started a decade earlier on a cross-country road trip. Driving to Los Angeles with wide-eyed dreams and no safety net, Abby Davis made a decision: no matter what, she wouldn't sacrifice her character to be a part of the entertainment industry.

This seemingly insignificant promise soon proved to be her anchor.

The cutthroat landscape of the entertainment industry has never been easy to navigate and is certainly not reflective of what the world truly looks like. For this reality, it is character.'s mission to create space for voices that will go unheard and unseen if not fought for.

Abby graduated from Western Michigan University near her hometown of Saginaw, Michigan. Four days after graduating, Abby moved across the country to Los Angeles with nothing but naive determination and her 2001 Ford Taurus named Black Shadow (RIP). Ten years, four apartments, three jobs, hundreds of films, countless friends, and a 2018 Honda Civic later, Abby moved back across the country to Chicago to be closer to her family. She currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Chicago. When Abby is not in the studio or at a film festival, you can find her sampling every pizza joint in the greater-Chicago area or playing with her nieces, nephews, and three-legged Pitbull named Nelly.
